About Hope Building Services
Born and raised in Warren, Ohio, Ed began his career in the cleaning services industry in the mid 1970’s and eventually linked up with his friend Jimmy Dobson in November of 1982. The two partnered in a new commercial maintenance endeavor by starting a company called Executive Maintenance. As they worked together, Ed began to develop a passion for the industry, learning the skills needed without any formal training. Instead, he used self-motivation and hard work to get the job done. With a desire to grow himself and to acquire his own business, Ed bought the company from Jimmy in 1999 and named it Hope Building Services (HBS), to honor his wife, Hope. Edwin and Hope recently celebrated 28 years of marriage. HBS was officially established as an incorporation in 2001 and Ed has been passionate about growing the business ever since.
Being that Ed specializes in working with all types of floors, including carpet, tile and hardwood, HBS focused on this type of work at the start. Since then HBS has grown into providing more types of services like pressure washing, window cleaning, air duct cleaning and many more. Ed is very hands on with all of his working staff as he personally trains each and everyone one of them to make sure the job gets done right. Ed never sees the job he does as a challenge, but rather as a process of putting in hard work and making sure everyone does their part. Although his goal is to make the customer happy, Ed wants to impress them with the work he’s done. He has always prided himself in customer satisfaction and doing the job with great care, which is key in the service industry. Ed currently lives with his wife and has 7 children and 10 grandchildren. Along with owning the business, Ed also serves as the chairman of the deacon board at his church.
